Later in the afternoon, the theme of the festival turns towards the traditional pagentry and the reason for celebration. As it is told, Mary and Joseph could find no place for the birth of Jesus. They went from place to place and were turned away. (Festival participants symbolize this by going as a group from building to building in the village singing carols). Their search for shelter ends at a stable where the baby Jesus is placed in a manger. (Festival participants gather at the manger). THREE KINGS arrive to give gifts to the newborn Jesus. (The giving of gifts is sybolized after the pagentry by the THREE KINGS giving gifts to all the children attending the festival)
|
The Three Kings Day festival concludes with the giving of gifts to the children in attendance.
